Albert Nichols, brother of Grandma Bentley, owned a grocery store at Millport across from the fairgrounds. Saturday night dances were held on the second floor of the building from 1925 to 1940.
People came from Coneville, Oswayo, the Eleven Mile and other communities by horse and buggy, later by automobile. He also had another store at Shinglehouse until 1947. Notice his dapper attire as a businessman as compared to the coveralls of a typical farmer of those days.
