In 2005 Eleanor Schwalb transcribed the 1933 stone readings by Gertrude A. Barber,
* Indicates stones read by Mrs. Gladys Sylor, data copied by Leslie Voss, who was the Town Clerk of Granger Township and Archie H. Eldridge of Front Royal, Virginia, formerly of Fillmore, N.Y.

Inscription on the arch over the main entrance:
"This Arch was given by Ellen, Sophia and Cynthia Smith. In Memory of their parents
Hiram and Mary Smith, Pioneers of Granger, New York, January 1818"

The cemetery also contains a Civil War monument (external link) erected by members of the Thorp family to recognize the soldiers of Granger who died in the Civil War.

Many of these soldiers were in the 85th Infantry NYS Vols. Four hundred seventy-eight soldiers of the regiment were captured in action 4-20-1864 at Plymouth NC and sent to Andersonville prison in Georgia. Over two hundred of them died. All of the soldiers from Granger who died are listed on this page and on the monument, but not all of them are buried in Short Tract Cemetery.
