Loren J. Clark, Beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Uncle.
Loren Clark passed away June 28, 2015 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife Florence (nee Tillman) Clark, his son Brian (Sheryl) Clark, grandson Steven C. Clark, and granddaughter Alyssa K. Clark. He is also survived by his sisters Donna (Robert) Craig, Diane (Terry) Peacock, and Debbie (Lewis) Hall, sisters-in-law Kay Tietjen, Nancy Snyder, Kay Snyder, and several nieces and nephews.
Loren was predeceased by his father John S. Clark, mother Pauline (Murray) Snyder, and brothers Norman Lozier Clark, Cloyse Snyder, and Lawrence Snyder.
Loren was born in Pulteney NY and attended school in Elmbois NY, later graduating from Prattsburgh School.
He was a veteran of WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant, he then attended and graduated from Syracuse University.
He went on to work at the Corning Leader, later McConnell Manufacturing, and then the Steuben County Department of Social Services. He retired in 1991 from his position as Director of Services for Steuben County. In his life Loren had an adventurous soul.
He and a friend hitchhiked across the US, from NY to California, where he worked in aircraft manufacturing among other things. He also spent time as Steward of the Keuka Lake Yacht Club and enjoyed being a crew member on an E-scow.
Loren was a member of the Hammondsport Masonic Lodge.
He was an active member of the Pulteney Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for many years. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Calling hours were held on Thursday July 2nd at the LaMarche Funeral Home in Hammondsport NY from 5-7pm.
The funeral was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Pulteney NY on Friday July 3rd at 11:00 AM. A luncheon followed. |
