Dalton, N.Y. — Elizabeth J. Rittenhouse, of Dalton, died Saturday (Feb. 23, 2013) at Teresa House in Geneseo at age 92 after a short illness.
Elizabeth was born in West Sparta June 5, 1920, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Jackson. On Dec. 30, 1950, she married Wilson Rittenhouse, who predeceased her on Jan. 30, 2001.
Prior to her retirement in 1985, she had been employed by the Keshequa Central School District as a nurse/nurse teacher in Dalton. She was a member of the Dalton Assembly of God Church and the ladies prayer group.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Wilson Rittenhouse; a son, Del Rittenhouse; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Wayne) Anglin, of North Carolina; her son, Richard (Connie Mitchell) Rittenhouse, of Hunt; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Keith) Norton, of Pavilion; a sister, Emily Wilcox, of Nunda; grandchildren, Christy (Chris) Schultz; Karyn (Jeff Winters) Rittenhouse, Nathan Anglin, and Elizabeth "Lucy" Anglin; great-grandchildren, Will and Drew Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (March 2, 2013) at the Dalton Assembly of God Church in Dalton.
Internment will be at the convenience of the family.
