ADDISON — Alan J. Taylor, 54, of John Rial Road, passed away peacefully Thursday (Feb. 23, 2012) at his home surround by the comfort of his family.
Alan was born May 23, 1957, in Corning, to Raymond and Theresa (Hyde) Taylor. On April 4, 1992, in Rathbone, he married Elaine MacDonald, who survives and resides at home in Addison.
He was predeceased by his father and a sister, Diane Rought.
Alan was a graduate of Addison Central School, Class of 1975. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1975-80. He had been employed as a truck driver for the Dickson Trucking Co. of Bath. Alan's pastime activities included hunting, cutting firewood and racing Go-Karts. He enjoyed the company of his friends and the excitement of racing very much at the local race tracks, Moe's Race Track in Addison and the Drum Race Track in Allentown.
In addition to his wife, Elaine of Addison, Alan is survived by his three children: son, Raymond Taylor of Addison, and two daughters, Vanessa Taylor of Addison, and Eliza Taylor of Bath. He is also survived by his mother, Theresa (Richard) Kennedy of Painted Post, and a sister Doreen (Timothy) Galas of Sebring, Fla.
At Alan's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
