Thomas K. Faulkner, 71, of 1041 Two Mile Road, Olean, NY, passed away Tuesday (January 10, 2012) at Roswell Park Cancer Center, Buffalo, NY from complications of lung surgery.
Born October 10, 1940, in Olean, he was the son of the late Gordon and Helen Shira/Faulkner.
On August 11, 1962 at the Transfiguration Church in Olean, he married the former Mary Ann Woodgie, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Kwiatkowski-Woodgie.
Mr. Faulkner graduated from Olean High School, Class of 58 and St. Bonaventure University in May of 1962, when he was hired by the Buffalo Marine Mid-land Bank. The family lived in the Buffalo area until moving to Eldred, Pa in 1966 where Eldred National Bank employed him. He moved back to Olean in 1970 and went to work for the Exchange Bank of Olean, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. During his employment years at the bank, he attended Rutgers University and Cornell University to take courses relative to his banking interests.
He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972.
He served on the Board of Education of the Allegany Central School System from 1975 to 1985.
He was a member of the Pulaski Club, Allegany Legion and Knights of Columbus of Allegany.
Surviving besides his wife of 49 years, is a son, Timothy (Robin) Faulkner of Woodstock, Georgia and a daughter Pamela (Chip) Malboeuf of Barboursville, Va., 5 grandchildren, Taylor and Michael Faulkner, Rachel, Michaela and Bryan Malboeuf; two brothers, Phillip (Sue) Faulkner of Dallas TX and John (Pam) Faulkner of York, Pa.
His parents and a son, Michael Joseph Faulkner, predeceased him.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home of 3128 NYS Rte 417 W. There will be no public visitation. For those who wish to attend, a Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Transfiguration Church, Walnut Street, Olean, NY at 9:30 A.M. with Rev James Vacco, OFM officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY
