Obit: CONSTANCE E. "CONNIE" GORE
JAMESTOWN - Constance E. "Connie" Gore, 82, of 33 Lovall Ave., formerly of Hornell, died Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2001) in her home.

She was born June 26, 1919 in Matamoras, Pa., a daughter of William and Edith Jones Middaugh.

A 1936 graduate of Matamoras High School, she was a member of their girls' championship basketball team. In earlier years, she was employed by the former Art Metal Corp. and was a member of the former Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking for her family. She was especially close to her son-in-law, John Stravato and grandson-in-law, Steven Heath. She will be remembered for her love of animals.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Francis Gore; a daughter, Sally Stravato of Jamestown; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Heath of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Middaugh.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home, 805 West 3rd St., Jamestown, with Rev. Samuel Scheffler of Heritage Village Chaplain officiating. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
