|Olean NY / Canandaigua NY / Winterhaven Florida - Isabelle M. Black Smith
passed away Sunday (January 17, 2010) in Winterhaven Florida, the family's
Born October 14, 1941 in Olean New York, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and
Marion Black. She was a 1959 Graduate of Olean High School. On June 23, 1962, in Olean New York,
she married her surviving husband, David Forrest Smith.
Mrs. Smith worked for several years as a Registered Nurse at the Canandaigua Hospital.
She graduated from Buffalo University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. As a result of poor health, Mrs. Smith retired
from her Nursing career in 1974.
Mrs. Smith was an active volunteer and member at her local church, the Methodist Church in Canandaigua.
After many years of service at the Methodist Church, Mrs. Smith transferred to the Calvery Chapel of the Finger Lakes in
Farmington, New York, where she continued to worship and study the Lordís word.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a husband (David F. Smith), a son (Kevin Smith), 3 daughters
(Debbie Cirrincione, Diane Mincer and Denise Gomara), a daughter-in-law (Susan Smith),
2 son-in-laws (Joseph Cirrincione and TJ Mincer), 3 brothers and their families
(Art Black, Miles Black, Jim Black), 2 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, and several nieces, nephews.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Hillside Westeyan Church in
Olean NY on March 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made in Isabelle Smith's honor to the Arthritis Foundation.
Burial Arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home Inc, of Olean NY.
