Mrs Francis Pool

Mrs. F. Pool Dead
Montezuma Republican 14 Nov. 1927 Funeral Services Held Sunday at
Beulah church
Mrs. Francis Pool passed away Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Charles Ferneau, following a short illness of only a few days duration.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Beulah church, the Rev. A. H.
Barker in charge. Burial was in the Montzuma Cenetery.
Following is the obituary as was read at the services;
Frances Fidelia Steward was born in Chautauqua County, New York, on
January 15th, 1843, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlie
Ferneau, aged eighty-four years, nine months and twenty-six days.
On March 12 1861 she was united in marriage to Francis Pool. To this union
ten children were born. Ida, Alma May, Steward and her husband have
preceded her in death. There remain to mourn their loss, Nettie Todd, of Los
Angeles,CA, Delbert, of Marshalltown; Rosa Walden, of Valley Junction;
Nellie Ferneau, Emma Ross, Frank, and Edith Smith of Montezuma; several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mother Pool was remarkably active for one of her age, being bedfast just
three days. She was one of the early pioneers, coming to this country sixty
years ago.
Years ago she was converted and united with the Methodist Church at
Beulah, at which place she still holds membership.
She was the daughter of Daniel and Diadema Steward.
