Micro Film of Olean Times Heralds Newpapers, March 15, 1965, Olean Library , Olean NY.
: Mrs. Clarissa Joy of 716 Powell Ave., Cresson, PA., died Sunday (March 14, 1965) at Mercy Hospital in Altoona PA., after a short illness.
: She was born Oct. 13, 1895 at Bolivar, NY, a daughter of William "RILEY" and Lena (Lydia Amidon) Cowles, and had moved to live with a daughter(Hazel Joy Graham) about nine years ago.
: Her Husband John A. Joy died Nov 14, 1940
: Surviving are four daughters: Mrs.John (Hazel) Graham (with whom she lived), Mrs. Glenn (Geraldine) Cornell of Buffalo, Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Ewing of Olean, and Mrs. Paul (Arlene) Schemerhorn of Rock City Rd, Olean, three sons, Ralph Joy of Cuba, NY, John Joy of Rochester NY, and Robert Joy of Buffalo, NY; 26 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grant (Flossie) Trask of Eldred, PA; Two brothers, William Cowles and Clayton Cowles of Florida.
: The body of Mrs. Joy will be brought to Olean Tuesday, Friendsmay call at the Halwig Funeral Home, Inc. in Olean, from 7 to 9:30 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30p.m. Funeral services will be held at Halwig's at 1:30 pm Thursday (March 18, 1965). The Rev. Dr. Paul P. Hagen, minister of the First Presbyterian Church of Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Genesee, NY
