His body will be brought to Bath this (Friday) afternoon on the Lackawanna (Railroad) at 5:19, and the funeral will be held in the Presbyterian church tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, his former pastor, the Rev. George H. Allen, Jr, officiating

Ferrel Smith was born in Bath, one of the seven children of the late Mr and Mrs. Henry Smith, and lived in Bath until about 20 years ago, when he went to Lakeland, FL, where he soon became attached to the staff of the Lakeland Post Office, in which he later became postmaster. He served as a clerk in the Bath post office for many years, and under the postmastership of Henry O. Elkins, he became assistant postmaster, succeeding the late D. Beach Bryan. He was one of the best interned and one of the most efficient men in the postal service.
Mr. Smith married Miss Edna Gilbert in his young manhood and to them two daughters were born, Frances, now Mrs. Norman Miller of Chicago, and Rachael, who is the chief money-order clerk in the Lakeland office.
Mrs. Smith and the two daughters survive, together with one brother, Fowler, of Buffalo, and one sister, Miss Alida Smith, of Springville.
Ever since Mr. and Mrs. Smith moved to Florida they have made yearly summer visits to Bath and 4 years ago built a Summer home on Lake Keuka in which they many friends found gracious welcome.
