|GEORGETOWN-Carl Lewis Day of Georgetown died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was 53.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1952, in Wellsville, NY to Lewis and Gloria Day.
Mr. Day graduated from Wellsville High School in 1971.
He was in the U.S. Army in the Military Police from 1971-75.
Mr. Day moved to Maryland and then started working in Deleware at the Department of Correction in 1979, eventually working in the K-9 department.
Mr. Day enjoyed coaching Pop Warner football and was involved in other various community activities.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Stevenson Day; two children, Lewis Day and Katy Day; and one brother and a sister-in-law, Steven Day and Ellen Althaus-Day.
An informal memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Marvel Carriage Museum, 510 S. Bedford Street, Georgetown.
