>OLEAN- Cecil P. Green, 83 of Butler Avenue died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998)
at his home after a short illness.
>Born June 23, 1915, in Richburg, he was the son of Daniel (should be
Danniel) Perry and Lena Spencer Green. On March 2, 1940, in Port
Allegany, PA, he married Edwina E. West, who died July 1, 1991.
>Mr. Green attended school in Olean and Richburg and had lived in Eldred,
PA, and Richburg before moving to Olean.
>Mr. Green was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army in
the European Theater. He had been employed as a heavy equipment
operator for many years with the Hammermill Paper Co, in Erie, PA.
>He was later manager of Reckenwald and Standish Vineyard in Naples.
After his retirement he was employed as a security guard at Reckenwald
and Standish.
>Surviving are a son Franklin (Georgeann) Green of Inavale; two dughters,
Nancy Wilson of Batavia and Judy (John) Cabisca of Derrick City , PA; 14
Grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Ruth) Green of
Allentown and Daniel (Dorothy) Green of Brooksville, Fla; and several nieces
and nephews.
>He was predeceased by a stepson, Truman Goodliff, who died June 2,
1986; four brothers, Carlton Baker, Harry Green, Howard Green and Kenneth
Green; and a sister, Francis Kelley.
>Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Frame Funeral Home,
Eldred. Funeral and committal services eill be held Wednesday (Dec. 16,
1998) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Glenn Hamilton, pastor of the
Cyclone Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Annin
Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint, PA.
>The family requests memorials to the Victory Baptist Church, North Lyons
Street, Batavia. |
