On our last visit to Mead Settlement Cemetery in West Greenwood, we noticed that my great-grandparents' monument is leaning most precariously.

We have found a contractor who would fix it, but we need to know who we get permission from for that cemetery.
Does anybody have an idea who we need to contact?

Both my husband and I have several relatives in this cemetery. There are certainly several headstones in need of repair. Have you had this done yet? I would certainly be interested in the contractor you have contacted.

Who is your relative? Maybe we are kin.

I believe this cemetery, among others in Greenwood, is maintained by the highway department. You would need to contact the Superintendant of Highways.

If you need more info, I can probably help you.

We really have not done anything yet, since the contractor needed to know who he needs to get permissions from regarding the cemetery.

My ancestors there are Daniel and Jenny Boyd, along with Ruth Boyd. I assume they may be related to somebody else there, but we have no clue yet. They had come over from Northern Ireland and lived on Boyd Road in Greenwood (and later in Andover).

Was anything ever done about doing the repairs at the cemetery?

As of yet, nothing has been done. Unfortunately, I have been side-tracked, so I have not been able to follow up with the highway department.
However, I am hoping to have some time for it this fall.
My family is planning a reunion next June in the area and hope to do something by then.
