THE BOLIVAR BREEZE Th. 12/28/1911 p1c4
(my additions to article in parentheses)
50th Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Crandall Lester of Richburg Celebrated Their
Wedding Anniversary on Christmas Day. Married at Genesee.
Mr. and Mrs. Crandall* Lester of Richburg celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on Christmas Day by entertaining at dinner their children and
grandchildren: Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Lester and children, Paul and Lucille; Mr. &
Mrs. Herbert Lester and son, Donald; Mrs. R.L. Brown and sons, Max and
R.M.; all of Richburg ; Mrs. (W.) Audley Thomas of Olean; W. J. (William
John) Richardson of Wellsville; Mrs. (M.) Estella Richardson of Andover;
Mrs. Marian (Marion [Richardson] Graham) Davis of Friendship; Mr. and Mrs.
W. G. (Walter) Richardson and daughters, Eleanor and Freda of Richburg.
Mrs. Lester whose maiden name was Frances (Caroline) Richardson, was
united in marriage to Mr. Lester at Little Genesee (Allegany Co., NY), Dec.
25, 1861, by Justice of the Peach Isaac Prosser. They began housekeeping
in the residence now occupied by Rev. Fiske and family at Richburg. Mrs.
Lester has resided in that village all her life, while Mr. Lester has lived there
ever since he was 11 years old. Mr. Lester served in the Civil War as a
private in the 160th Regt., NY Volunteers. He enlisted Sept. 6, 1862 and
was honorably discharged from the service on March 16, 1865. He is a
pensioner and a member of the Cassius Maxson G.A.R. Post of Richburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester were the recipients of a number of useful, as well as
valuable gifts upon the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. That this
worthy couple may live to enjoy many more years of married life is the wish
of their many friends.

NOT IN NOTICE: *Crandal's will lists only one "L", also per his signature.
