:? I am trying to find the record of my Grandfather's birth. He was born in Farmersville. His death cert. shows he was brrn on Sept, 5 1880 but I now have a record from his enlistment into the Marines in 1900 that show he was bron in 1879. New York State does not have a record of this birth. Does anyone know where else I can look. I haven't had any luck with Olean so far.
Alison German Eckert, died 191936, father -German Albert Eckert, mother - Mary A Bond- Eckert. He had a sister May who had two sons - Merle and Ora Cleveland. She later married John Woodmansee. He also had a brother Albert (Bird) Eckert.
Thnaks, Linda

Normally in the State of New York you have to go to the TOWN where the birth/death/marriage occurred. Sometimes you find it at the county seat level, othertimes at the town clerk's office. New York required listing of births, etc. c 1880.
