Miss Mayme Brokaw of Richburg and Mr. Carl Taylor of Olean were Married
in Bolivar Yesterday Morning.
Miss Mayme Alice Brokaw of Richburg was united in marriage to Mr. Carl
Plin Taylor of Olean at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. J.V. Hoover in Bolivar at
11 o'clock yesterday morning. Rev. W.N. Mason, pastor of the Baptist
church of Richburg, pronounced the ceremony. There were present only near
relatives of the bride and groom.
The bride is an accomplished and popular young woman, who has many
friends both in Richburg and Bolivar. The groom is a son of Mrs. Rowland
Taylor of Rushford. He is an expert machinist and has been employed at his
trade in Olean for some time.
Mr. & Mrs. Taylor departed yesterday afternoon for Rushford, where they will
make a brief visit at the home of Mr. Taylor's mother, and then return to
Olean, where they will be at home to their friends after January 1, at 214
North Second street.
NOT IN NOTICE: In most instances, her name is listed as Mamie or May.
Carl's parents were Roland L. and Marion E. (Jackson) Taylor. Mamie's
parents were Dorr E. & Eva Arabella "Bella" (Richardson) Brokaw. Mr. &
Mrs. J.V. Hoover referred to above were James V. and Anna M. (Ford)
Hoover -- Anna was Mamie's 1st cousin.
