Granted a Divorce.
Mrs. Cora M. Newton of Bolivar Granted a Divorce From B.O. Newton
Following a Private Settlement Between the Parties.
Mrs. Cora M. Newton of Bolivar was granted a divorce on May 3 from B.O.
Newton of Bolivar by Justice Charles H. Brown at Belmont. Mrs. Newton
was given custody of her son, Harry Newton, aged six years. The divorce
was not contested by Mr. Newton, following a private settlement between
the principals in which Mrs. Newton relinquished all right and title in the real
and personal property of Mr. Newton. A number of witnesses from Bolivar
were in Belmont on Monday to testify in the case. Henry Donnelly of Olean
represented Mrs. Newton and M.B. Jewell of Olean represented Mr.
NOT IN ARTICLE: Cora A. Green was second wife of Burr O. Newton whom
he married 10/23/1901 and by whom he had one son, Harry A. Newton b.
9/17/1902 in Bolivar, Allegany, NY. I do not believe Burr ever remarried.
Cora remarried by 1915 Bolivar census to Erastus F. Root.
