Patsy A. "Baker" Piganelli, of 51 Rochester Street, died September 26, 2007 at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Bradford, he was the son of Anthony and Mary Marasco Piganelli. On May 8, 1948 in Attica, N.Y., he married Amelia Bottone, who survives.
Mr. Piganelli graduated from Bradford High School in 1938 and worked for Dresser Manufacturing.
On April 25, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served during World War II and was honorably discharged on November 18, 1945. He returned home and worked for Dresser Manufacturing, then Bovaird & Seyfang and Zippo Manufacturing Co. until his retirement.
He was a member and usher at St. Bernard Church, a founding member of the Bradford Central Christian Ramblers Association, a member of the American Legion, VFW, the Custer City Men's Club, the 50 Plus Group at St. Francis Church, the Italian Club and a LaStella Lodge Officer. He was an honorary member of the Bradford City Fire Department. He was instrumental in starting the Midget League Football program in Bradford, which he coached along with Little League Baseball. For many years he was a volunteer for the United Way's Annual Campaign.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Piganelli is survived by one son, Robert (Carol) Piganelli of Carmel, Ind.; one daughter, Patsy (Tom) Arrowsmith of Bradford; four grandchildren, William (Amy) Arrowsmith of Manhattan, N.Y., Julie (Mike) Arrowsmith-Vukovcan of Hopewell, Joseph Piganelli of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Michael Piganelli of Carmel, Ind.; one sister, Kathryn Behan of Bradford; one brother, Samuel Piganelli of Bradford and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Piganelli was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joseph, Frank, Andrew, Dominic and John; three sisters, Rose Anne Gallucci, Mary Girard and Theresa Fink.
