Engagement
Mrs. U. G. Ferenbaugh of 73 West Pulteney street, Corning, gave a valentine tea Sunday afternoon to announce the engagement of her daughter, Miss Marcia Smith to Kenneth G. Sills, son of Mrs. C. Sills, Maplewood, N. J. Cadet Sills is in training at the Coast Guard Academy at New London, Conn. Wedding plans are indefinite.
Miss Smith’s father was the late Archie R. Smith, former manager of the Merrill Silk Glove Factory, Flint avenue, Corning.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. C. Elmer Smith of Canisteo.
She attended Southern College at Petersburg, VA and is now employed in the draughting department of Ingersoll-Rand Co. at Painted Post.
The tea table centered with a heart-shaped cake, was decorated with blue iris, yellow daffodils and white candles in candelabra. Miss Amelia Wenderlich, poured.
Guests were Mrs. Dorothy Fish, Mrs. Wilmer Sharpe, Mrs. Walter Andrews, Mrs. Hugh Blackwell, and Misses Amelia Wenderlich, Phyllis Sharpe, Helen Edsall, May Anderson, Teresa Alotto, Helen Emilson, Mary Jane Griffin, Beatrice Becker. |
