Betty Lucille (Johnson) Copello, WRIGHT {Obituary}
Betty L. Copello Wright, 87, formerly of 671 Washington Rd., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Altus, Okla., where she had made her home for the past several years.
She was born Dec. 13, 1924 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Olive E. Tyler Johnson and Ernest L. Johnson.
She was married to the late George E. Copello, who preceded her in death in 1963, and James I. Wright who passed away on May 08, 1978.
Betty was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and was a longtime resident of St. Marys. She had worked for several years as a nurse's aide at the former Extended Care and had also been a private care aide. She had been active at the First United Methodist Church and also enjoyed playing the organ. She enjoyed helping others and volunteering her time years ago helping with the Spark. She also enjoyed donating blood, having donated nearly 17 gallons over the years. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, George J. Copello of St. Marys; a daughter, Shirley A., wife of Paul Sutherland of Altus, Okla.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva J., widow of Mario J. Curci,of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence E., Johnson, who died at birth; three sisters: Ida M., wife of Frances J. Beers; Evelyn G., wife of Clifford Newton; and Dorothy M., wife of Charles F. Heffner.
A Celebration of Life for Betty L. Copello Wright will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at the Altus Christian Fellowship Church in Altus, Okla.
Burial will be held at a later date in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
