MRS. R. CROWE, 79, DIES: FORMERLY ART STORE OWNER
MRS. PEARL CROWE, 79, of 189 Jackson Ave., died Friday morning in Bradford Hospital where she had been a patient since Feb. 26.
She was born in Troupsburg, N.Y., July 31, 1882, the daughter of WILLIAM and CORA HAXTON. Most of her life was spent in Foster Township and in Bradford. She attended school in Sawyer and also St. Elizabeth Academy in Allegany, N.Y.
At one time, she owned the Art Store at 61 Main St. A supporter of the Fresh Air Children, she brought the largest group of these children to Bradford. She was also interested in the cripple children, retarded children and needy children of Bradford.
A member of the First Methodist Church. She was also in the Golden Age Club and sthe Rotary Anns.
She married Raymond Crowe, who preceded her in death in 1939.
Friends will be received at the Koch-Chatley Memorial Chapel starting at 3 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Roland Osgood, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the McKean Memorial Park in Lafayette.
