OLEAN - Stephnaia C. "Stella" Robak, 97, formerly of Connell Street, passed away THursday (Sept 9, 2010) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean after a longillness.
Born May 2, 1913, in Olean, she was a daughter of the late Karl and Mary Karnish Kukulka. On Aug 5, 1933, she married Lucian R. Robak, Sr., who predeceased her April 28, 1987.
She was employed at School 7 and Olean High School until her retirement. She was a member of Transfiguration Church, its Rosary and Altar Society and the Transville Society. Stella enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans for her family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene (Josephine) Robak of Olean and Lucian R. (Carol) Robak, Jr. of North Caroling; four daughters, Rita (Bernard) Malick of Allegany, Nancy Eaton of Allegany, Marie (Daniel) Woods of Portville and Patricia Cosamento of Warren, Pa; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson David Woods.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Guenther Funeral Homer Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Funeral services will be held Monday (Sept 13, 2010) beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Chirstian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Oratory, 1102 Walnut St., Olean. Father Edward Sheedy; pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany. A Scripture wake service will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. today. At the conclusion of the visitation, the rosary will be recited by the family.
