WAYNE | Mildred A. "Peggy" Smith, age 87, of Montour Falls, formerly of Wayne, NY died Wednesday July 3, 2002 at the

Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, NY.

Friends are invited to call today from 2-4 p.m. Friday (July 5) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Evelyn Emerson officiating.

Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (July 6) in Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Wayne Fire Dept., the Tyrone Volunteer Ambulance Corp., or The Falls Home in Montour
Falls.

Mrs. Smith was born December 29, 1914 in Ulysses PA, the daughter of the late Coral and Blanche Hoppes Quackenbush.

In 1933 she married the late Roy Cratsley who passed away in 1953. She remarried in 1957 to the late Homer H. Smith who passed away on Nov. 28, 1986.

A loving mother and grandmother she has lived locally since 1967, previously of Galeton, PA. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Wayne American Legion Ladies Aux. and a former member of the Ladies of the Moose in Galeton, PA.

She is survived by 2 sons Chester (Dawn) Cratsley of Bergen, NY, Frederick (Sonja) Cratsley of Wayne, NY; 5 daughters Lucy Force of Elmira, Mary Lou (Basil) McCutchen of Harrison Valley, PA, Shirley (Durell) Houghtaling and Jane (Bill) Putnam both of Savinsville, PA, Sharon (Jeff) Dencenburg of Hammondsport; a sister Margaret (Harry) Hoffman of Westfield, PA; 35 grandchildren; 78 great granchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
