Evelyn MANGINE
3/17/2005 - CASSADAGA - Evelyn B. Mangine, 86, of Cassadaga, formerly of Eckman Road, Jamestown, and the town of Gerry, died Wednesday (March 16, 2005) in her home. She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Sinclairville, the daughter of Fred and Ethel Simpson Greene.
A Chautauqua County resident most of her life, she was a graduate of Sinclairville High School, a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of Ma's and Pa's Restaurant in Kimball Stand.
She enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening, and cooking for friends and family. She will be missed by her family, especially her daughters-in-law, Nancy and Vicki Mangine.
She is survived by two sons: Anthony M. and Richard D. Mangine, both of Cassadaga; four grandchildren: Genelle Mangine Swoyer of Rochester, Anthony Joseph Mangine of Stockton, Richard Darren Mangine of Jamestown and Nikki Mangine Rosswog of Endicott; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert L. Greene of Bradenton, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Anthony Mangine, whom she married Dec. 1, 1942, and who died April 26, 2003; six sisters: Harriet Clark, Maude Haas, Florence Eddy, Nettie Thompson, Nancy Greene and Pauline Schwertfager; and a brother, Charles Greene.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Jordan Funeral Home. Pastor Allen S. Chase, pastorial assistant at Levant Weslyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sinclairville.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
