|Two Fillmore Young People Start Out On Life's Journey Together
Saturday afternoon, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Elliott, took place the marriage of their daughter, Agnes Cornelia to Hovey Alfred Gelser. The ceremony took place under an arch in which was hung decorations of the shape of horseshoes and all being coverd with smilax and ground pine. The house was tastily decorated throughout, the color scheme being green and white.
At one o'clock Miss Ella Hancock, of Befast, N. Y., took her place at the piano and began playing Mendelssohns wedding march. Miss Zetta Quill Elliott, sister of the bride, and Maurice Sonald Marrohn, Of Rochester, led the way to the arch where the vows were made. Rev. T. H. Carryer officiated.
The bride was attired in a gown of white batiste and carried white carnations, while the bridesmaid wore pink and carried pink carnations.
After the cermony a very fine wedding dinner was served to 50 juest.
The out-of-town guests wre John Heald, Kenneth Heald, Mr. and Mrs. John Gibbey and daughter of Centerville,N. Y.; Mr and Mrs. Royal Lamberson, Ithaca, N.Y.; Mr and Mrs. Wilmot and son Max Delvan, N.Y.;Mr and Mrs. Hancock and family, Mrs. Jennie Lowell, Belfast, N. Y.; Mrs. Cadwell, University Place,Neb,; Mr. and Mrs.David Gelser, Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Baldwin of Dalton, N. Y.; M. Gelser and R. Gelser, Grove, N. Y.; Miss Mary Vandrhoef, Belmont, N. Y., Maurice Donald Darrohn of Rochester, N. Y. , Mrs. Maria Hanks of Hume and Miss Mabel Barnum of Centerville.
Mr. and Mrs. Gelser left on a trip which will enclude New York and several Eastern points.
Many beautiful and costly presents were received, some coming from as far as California. Upon their return they will take up their home in a house that has been furnished and is ready for their occupancy.
Mr. Gelser has always lived in Fillmore and is proving himself to be a very energetic, wide-awake business man, having entered into partnership with his father a year ago, the firm name now being L. S. Gelser & Son. His bride is beloved by her associates and they will glad that she is still to reside in Fillmore.
The day chosen for the wedding was the wedding anniversary of the groom's father.
