Hazel Cordilla (Casbeer) Ianson, Boom 1918 - 2007); Obit of:
Hazel C. Boom, age 89 of 6513 Holden Road, Addison, Steuben Co., NY, entered into rest at home on Saturday evening, October 6, 2007, following a long illness.
Hazel was born June 3, 1918 in Conrad, East Fork Twp., Potter Co., PA, the daughter of Ward W. Casbeer and Lena L. Williams.
She had been a longtime employee of Corning Inc., where she had worked as an inspector in various Corning plants, including Big Flats, Pressware, and Main Plant.
On July 2, 1985 Hazel and Milford married in Rapid City, Pennington Co., SD. She loved to crochet and collect porcelain dolls. She truely enjoyed her family, especially loving on the many babies and little ones in the family.
Surviving Hazel are her husband Milford M. Boom, of Addison, NY, daughters: Edith Kay (Ianson), wife of William 'Bill' Treat of Cochife, AZ; Betty (Robert) Coleates of Marion, NC; Roseann Stilts (Robert Weber) of Monterey; Julie (Williams) Smith of Coudersport; Kathy (James) Lowe of _cabinsville, Nora Gitchell of Osceola; and sons: Robert Bryan Ianson and wife Donna of Coudersport; Durward Clayton 'Clay' Ianson and wife Nancy of Hummelstown; Milford Boom and wife Karen of Troupsburg; Rex Boom and his wife Sandy of Osceola; and Daniel Boom and his wife Tracy of Osceola. Also brothers: Robert L. Casbeer and wife Cora Reigle of Corning, NY; Gordon G. Casbeer and wife Peggy of Jersey Shore; Lavern E. Casbeer and wife Linda of Addison, NY, and sisters: Mary Jane (Casbeer) Baker of Elkland; and Bertha May (Casbeer) Earl of Osceola, survive as well as her sister-in-law Margaret Blanchard of Osceola, and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by brothers Melford and Theron Casbeer; and sisters Alberta (Casbeer) Purdy and Isabella (Casbeer) Keanely; and her first husband Durward Robert Ianson, whom she married on Dec 23, 1939. Durward was born Jul 29, 1909 in Borie, Potter Co., PA and believed to have died in Elkland, Tioga Co., PA on Nov 11, 1976. Durward was the son of Robert Milton Ianson and Edith Rennels.
Friends may call today (Wednesday, Oct 10, 2007) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the H.P. Allen & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1607 Main Street, Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be conducted there on Thursday (Oct 11, 2007) at 10a.m. (rest of obit is missing which probably give the cemetery of burial.ceh

Burial was made in the Conrad Hull or McFall Cemetery in Conrad, East Fork Twp., Potter Co., PA, on October 11, 2007.
