Services Conducted for Lowell Newton
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Schaffner
Funeral Home for Lowell C. Newton, 56, Nunda diner operator who died
Friday at his home. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Newton was born in Bolivar Sept. 18, 1904, the son of Thad and Lulu
Smith Newton. He had lived in Nunda for the past six and a half years
during which time he operated Newton's Diner on State street.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Cady Newton; a son, Fred Newton,
Buffalo; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Fox, Mineral Wells WV; three
grandchildren; three brothers, Wallace Newton, Bolivar, Fred Newton,
Hartford, CT, and Harold Newton, Kenmore; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Osburn,
Mrs. Claude Webb, both of St. Petersburg, FL; Mrs. Ray Messler, Bolivar,
and Mrs. Don Kreutter, Alden; several nieces and nephews.
NOT IN OBIT: Parents were Thaddeus Edgar and Louise Ann "Lulu" (Smith)
Newton. He married Myrtle Ann Cady on 7/17/1927 in Arcade, Allegany,
NY). Maple Lawn Cemetery is in Bolivar, Allegany, NY.
