I am looking for suggestions of good or great places to hold family reunions. I attend a Bacon Reunion Held every two years in the Midwest for one of the smaller family groups within my Bacon & Spencer Reunion. They always have them at a campground as most of them are campers, and they are very successful social and genealogical events(with the emphasis on social). The traditional Bacon Spencer group is not really the camping type. I was thinking about a lodge type of place. So far, I have found two possibilities. The Lake View Lodge in Lawrenceville, Pa, and The Finger Lakes Inn near Canandaguia, NY.
We would need to have three days coming in on Friday with a meet n greet in the evening and activities on Saturday, with meals prepared by family preferable, and a picnic meal catered on Sunday.
I would like to have a number of rooms, and some camping spots with hook ups available for the campers.
I am not sure if the family will go for the expense of this, but I would like to have something to present to them at our annual meeting during the Reunion this year.
I am also interested in corresponding with anyone involved in planning Family Reunions. I guess that we could conduct our conversations on here for the benefit of all.
If any one has any suggestions please let me know, preferably on this forum for the benefit of all,
or personally by email at: bbacon@bacon-spencer.org |
