Engagement of Miss Lowry Announced.
Talented Daughter of Mrs. Frank M. Lowry of Bolivar to Wed Mr. Livingston
Flanagan of Wyoming.
The engagement is announced of Miss Edith Craig Lowry to Mr. Livingston
Flanagan of NY City and Sheridan, WO. The wedding is to take place before
Christmas, the exact date not having been announced.
Miss Lowry is a daughter of Mrs. Frank M. Lowry and a granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar W. (Wales) Cowles of Bolivar (Allegany Co., NY). Miss
Lowry is well known in Bolivar, having spent her summers here for a number
of years. She is a graduate of Ogontz and a talented, beautiful, and popular
Mr. Flanagan owns the big FF ranch near Sheridan, WO, where he spends
his summers looking after his business interests as a breeder of draft
horses, his specialty being Clydesdales and Percherons. He also has large
cattle interests. The winters he spends in NY City, his former home. He is a

summer there with her brother, Edgar Lowry, when she met Mr. Flanagan,
whose ranch was not far away.

Miss Edith Lowry and Mrs. W.L. Flanagan were Married at Church of the
Messiah, Tuesday Afternoon.
Miss Edith Craig Lowry, daughter of Mrs. Frank M. Lowry and granddaughter
of Mr. & Mrs. Edgar W. Cowles of Bolivar, was united in marriage to Mr. W.
Livingston Flanagan of Sheridan, WO, and NY City. The wedding took place
in the Church of the Messiah, Fifth Avenue, NY City, at 5 o'clock Tuesday
afternoon, Dec. 20. The bride was given away by her father and had no
attendants. Among the guests was the bride's brother, Edgar K. Lowry, who
is a student at the Fessenden school at West Newton, MA. The wedding
was followed by a dinner at the Hotel Manhattan.
Mr. & Mrs. Flanagan will spend Christmas in Bolivar with the latter's mother,
then go on to Sheridan, WO, where they will reside.
The bride has many friends in Bolivar who wish her much happiness.
NOT IN NOTICE/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: By 1952, Edith was married
to Stephan Stahlnecker. It is not known if W.L died or they were divorced. It
is not known if Edith had any children by either of her marriages.
