OLEAN - Judith A. Muniga, formerly of Fountain St., passed away Saturday (June 20, 2015) at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family.
Born Sept. 14, 1946, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Keegan Bracy. On Oct 28, 1961, in Olean, she married Edward J. Muniga, who passed away May 9, 2008.
Judy was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1960. Over the years, she was employed at various businesses, including WT Grant Co., Century Wholesale, Alcas Cutlery, Home Healthcare, and she was the secretary for E.J. Muniga Fence and General Contracting Company. Judy was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, Ladies Red Hatters, the Democratic Committee and Transfiguration Women's Auxiliary.
She enjoyed going to the casino with her friends, and she was a big TV fan of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy." She had a love for animals and nature. Judy had a kind heart and enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Victoria (Tracy) Veno of Olean, Edward (Cheryl Padlo) Muniga of Portville, Michael Muniga of Naples, Fla., Amy (Jimmy O'Neil) Muniga of Rochester and Joseph (Jennifer Bell) Muniga of Rochester; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Carol (Frank) Banzer of Cape Coral, Fla; two special friends, Grace Petruzzi and Brand Kosinski; and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. States St., Olean. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (June 24, 2015) beginning a with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Revs. Gregory Dobson and David Tourville will be celebrants. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. A Scripture wake service will be held Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
