EUGENIA R. "Jean" MILLER
OLEAN - Eugenia R. "Jean" Miller, of Olean, passed away Sunday (Dec 28, 2014) at Absolute Care of Allegheny after a brief illness.
Eugenia was born Sept 4, 1920, in Olean to the late Joseph and Martha Kwiatkowski-Kasperski. In 1949, in Transfiguration Church, Olean, she married Harry E. Miller, who passed away March 15, 1980.
She was a lifelong resident of Olean, working at Daystrom Furniture and then Whelan Wholesale, retiring in 1975.
Jean was a member of St. John's Church and enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Jean is survived by two children, Harry (Sue) Miller of Allegheny and Ruth (Don) Allen of Pittsford; four grandchildren, Richard (Desiree) Bray of Vestal, Kathryn (Michael) Miller-Kammes of Tujunga, Calif., Michelle Miller and Sara Miller, a great-granddaughter, Alice Bray; a younger brother, Eugene Kasperski of Olean, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and Harry, her husband of 31 years, she was predeceased by two older sisters, Sister Mary Clarentine, OFS and Martha Kasperski; and a younger brother Joseph Kasperski.
Family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 El State St., Olean. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial Wednesday (Dec 31, 2014) at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, Olean. Father Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Allegany. A Scripture wake service will be held in the funeral home today at 8:45 p.m.
