Dee was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and belonged to the Olean Library Book of the Month Club and the Olean Red Hottie Hatters. Along with being an avid reader, she loved to work in her flower garden. She looked forward to her lunches with "the girls" from AM & A's as well as seeing her former classmates at alumni reunions.
In the 1950s and 1960s, she was the scorekeeper at the Bradford Race Track, and when it was time for the "Powder Puff Derby," you would see her behind the wheel of a stock car. Dee also loved to draw. There were always sketches on every available piece of paper in her home. While a resident at The Pines, she enjoyed looking out the window, watching all the animals and birds in the yard.
She is survived by her two sons, William (Marcia) Stayer of Allegany and Stephen (Janice) Stayer of Waddello, Ariz; her daughter Rebecca (Dennis) Amore of Friendship; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
