CANAL FULTON, Ohio/SCIO Waneta Rogers, 95, formerly of Bolivar, N.Y., died on Feb. 28, 2013.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1917, in Kahlotus, Wash., to Harry and Harriette Scheunemann Graves. She married Karl Rogers on July 28, 1940 and lived in Scio, N.Y., until the time of his retirement and death in 1987.

She attended Friendship High School and Buffalo City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a staff nurse at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, N.Y. 

She is survived by four children, Rev. Dr. Jeanette (Dr. Munro) Sherrill of Bradenton, Fla., Karol (Robert) Atkins of Banner Elk, N.C., William (Lynda) of Punta Gorda, Fla., Jack (Dr. Nicholette) of Canal Fulton, Ohio. She has five grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Sherrill, Christine Rogers Raetsch and Kate and Seth Rogers. She has four great-grandchildren, Jamie and Ben Combs and Gianlucas and Isabella Sherrill. She is also survived by one sister, Helen Smith of Olean.

Waneta was skilled in many handwork crafts, including needlepoint, knitting and sewing, which she continued until shortly before her death.

She was a member of the Scio United Methodist Church.

Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Friendship, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church in Scio, N.Y.

Arrangements are by the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home of Wellsville.
