Young people Enjoyed Evening
The V. P. b. were entertained by Woodrow and Jesse Towner Friday evening. There were 16 members present. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Towner and a social evening spent.
Among those out of town for Thanksgiving were Mrs. and Mrs. M. A. Cook and grandson, Marcus Fairbrother, at Penn Yan; Mrs. H. M. Dygert and sons, Francis and Donald, at Kanona; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Noble, and children, at Naples; Mr. and Mrs. John Kellogg and children, at Rochester; Mrs. Ellen Brown, at C. B. Arnold’s, in Avoca.
Among those entertaining guests Thanksgiving were: Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Cragg, who had as guests, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cragg, of Rochester; Mrs. Emma Cragg and grandson, Ward Mattoon, of this village and W C. Mattoon, of Avoca. Mr. and Mrs. Will Sick entertained Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sick and family, of Loon Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sick, of Cohocton, and Mrs. Lydia Sick and son, Milo, of this village; Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mattoon, their daughter, Mrs. Wendell Rector, and family, of Brown Hill; Mr. and Mrs. James Hodge, her mother, Mrs. Eric Clark, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Preston and son were at J. D. Reynold’s; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Newman at Claude Lyke’s.
Mr. and Mrs. M. S. drum entertained Mr. and Mrs. Aden Drum, of Penn Yan, Sunday.
W. L. Mattoon will stay at the home of Elba Calkins for the Winter.
Mrs. Gladys Sager and daughter, Sally, have moved from Lent Hill to home of her mother, Mrs. Emma Ketch.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lyke are now staying with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Lyke.
Callers at L. M. Oxx’s Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Murray Oxx, of Wayland, Mr. and Mrs. John Peck of North Cohocton and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fox of Avoca.
Mr. and Mrs. Jay Brown of Cohocton were recent guests of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Calkins.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hurd and daughter, of Naples, spent Thursday with her mother, Mrs. Effie Pierce.
Rev. and Mrs. Paul Roy and two children, of Dexter, were guests, a few days last week of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Moore.
Edith Hopkins, of Bath, spent Saturday night and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hopkins.
M. S. Drum and Theodore Noble attended the Federation meeting held at the Hotel Wagner at Bath last Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Wightman entertained their children and grandchildren Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. William Hopkins spent Thursday with her parents at Wheeler.
Callers at Mrs. Lee Robords the past week were Henry and Fay Robords and daughter, Dorothea Robords, of the Beagle District.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Moore and her mother, Jessie Van Wormer, spent Wednesday and Thursday in Buffalo with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rynders.
Pauline Cook, of Lakewood spent from Wednesday evening until Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Cook. Mr. and Mr. W. J. Cook, and son, Ronny, of Rochester, also spent Thankgiving with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Milford Cleveland and daughter, of New York City, were callers at Mrs. H. M. Dygert’s Saturday morning, enroute from Naples, where they spent Thanksgiving.
Ephriam Avery and sister, Mrs. Nina Head, have moved from W. L. Mattoon’s tenant house to his farm house.
Gladys Crouch spent Thankgiving with her father and brother in Cohocton.
Ruth Ketch, of New York Mills spent the holiday vacation with her mother, Mrs. Emma Ketch.
Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Haberfield and daughter and Mrs. Lina Bardeen, of Penn Yan spend Sunday at M. A. Cook’s. Marcus Fairbrother, who spent part of last week at their home, returned with them.
Betty Comstock, of Naples spent from Thursday until Sunday with Joyce Noble.
Reese Dygert, of Kanona, spent Saturday with his cousins, Francis and Donald Dygert.
Lillian Cragg is recovering from an infected finger. She is at the Bath Hospital.

Dundee, March 1, -- Mrs. Ira Foltz, of this place, died at the Geneva
Hospital at 3 o'clock this morning, following an operation. She wa
taken to
the hospital on Monday. Mrs. Floltz was about 22 years of age and was
formerly Miss Gladys Buckley. She was born in Bradford and had always
lived
there until about a year prior to her marriage when she came to this
village. She was married to Ira Foltz, a young farmer of this village,
about two years ago. She leaves, besides her husband, her parents,

Mrs. Alfred Buckley, of Bradford; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Raymond
Vine and Sylvenus Buckley, of Bradford and Floyd Buckley, of Bradford,
and
Floyd Buckley, who is in Pennsylvania. The body will be brought to
this
village today.
I Find that in Steuben County, NY the last name of Buckley or Bulkley
is
used interexchangable.

The oldest resident of Steuben Co., Mrs. Sarah Rowley, mother of J.W.Rowley
of Tuscarora, has attained the age of 97 years.
She is quite hale and hearty, always insist upon dressing and takingcare
of her self and until 3 months past has taken daily walks out of doors.
She remembers distinctly the incidents of the Revolution, was a marriedwomen
before Geo. Washington was president and was mother of twelve children.
