Source Information:
This new Civil War page began as a transcription of the Civil War soldiers pages in History of the Counties of McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter, Pennsylvania by Michael A. Leeson, Published by J. H. Beers & Co., 1890, Chicago. That information was consolidated with the Civil War service information that was formerly on the Early Military Service page on this website.
That beginning has been amplified with service records from The Pennsylvania Civil War Project from Penn State, the regimental rosters for the NY Civil War Regiments, The National Cemetery Registry, and by information contributed by our users. If the service record and the burial place are unknown, the burial column may contain other information such as a Census or township of residence in the 1883 or 1890 Civil War Pensioners Lists. This information will be in [ ].
