Child lost in the woods

On Tuesday evening of last week a little child of John Schall residing on what is known
as the Billy Lewis road near the township line between Sweden and Summit, Strayed away into the woods, and despite the strictest search by the whole country side for sev eral days no trace of him can be found. the child was about three years of age.Fears are entertained that he has become the prey of some wild beast, as the mother, while searching for him on Tuesday heard the child scream once, but upon hastening in the direction as fast as possible could not find no sign of the child. She had heard him cry but the onetime a large bear or panther could easily transport such a child quite a distance. The father of the child had gone to the lumber woods looking for work, and the mother has had to bear the agonizing suspense without his sympathy. Nearly every able-bodied man for miles around has been for several days engaged in the search for the lost child. The sorrowing parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their affliction.
